Renovating and repositioning medium-to-large multifamily properties, mostly in the Midwest, is our area of expertise at Thrive AssetMx, a Cheyenne, Wyoming-based company. Our goal is to use well-planned revitalization initiatives to change communities and promote economic expansion. The company has a solid portfolio, with 364 units spread across four states and roughly $64 million in assets under management.

James Brewer

Founder, President & CEO

James Brewer is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and the President and CEO of Thrive AssetMx, Inc, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business focused as an Owner/Operator in the commercial multifamily market in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His private companies are vertically integrated with Asset Management, Property Management, renovations, maintenance & services in-house, currently with 74 Units/$8M AUM.

He is also a Founding Partner of SCALE | CRE, a Co-General Partner in Class A and B multifamily assets in South Dakota and Utah totaling 321 units/$76M AUM. Mr. Brewer holds a Certificate in Energy Innovation from Stanford, a Master’s degree from Georgetown, and a Bachelor’s from The Citadel.  Prior to his experience in commercial real estate, he proudly served more than 23 years in the United States Marine Corps, commanding units of 100+ Marines, and deploying in combat and across the globe. He currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and serves as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Communications (G-6) at Headquarters Marine Corps Reserves in New Orleans, Louisiana.

James has an enormous passion for mentoring and educating others and is focused on giving back to our Veterans through the forming of SCALE | CRE FOUNDATION, a Veteran and commercial real estate focused non-profit set to launch in 2026. In his civilian capacity, James co-founded the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program (a DoD SkillBridge Program) for his large software company in 2019. Their mission was to assist Active Service Members in their transition from Active Duty to the Civilian corporate world with a focus on opportunities within the software industry. His efforts through the Foundation will replicate that success in commercial real estate.

James currently lives in San Diego, California with his wife Jennifer and four young children.

Vice President

Jennifer, our Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions across all Thrive AssetMx entities and partnerships. With a sharp focus on strategic asset management and decision-making, she ensures that the company’s internal affairs are coordinated seamlessly, allowing James, our President, to concentrate on strategic partnerships and key acquisitions. Jennifer’s strong analytical, managerial, communication, and leadership skills from her decades of teaching and education administration enable her to provide crucial risk assessments, guiding the company through innovative ventures while maintaining a solid operational foundation.

Her ability to balance operational efficiency with strategic foresight makes Jennifer an indispensable leader at Thrive AssetMx. By managing complex internal processes and driving effective decision-making, she supports the company’s ambition to push boundaries and set new industry standards. Jennifer’s expertise ensures that Thrive AssetMx not only navigates risks effectively but also capitalizes on opportunities for growth and innovation, solidifying its position as a trailblazer in the industry.

Marvin Jackson

Facilities Director

Marvin, our seasoned Facilities Director, brings over 25 years of hands-on expertise across nearly every trade, including Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Drywall, Flooring, and general carpenter wizardry. His extensive skill set allows him to tackle any construction challenge with precision and efficiency. Marvin oversees all facilities staff, including maintenance, landscaping, and renovation crews, ensuring that every project runs smoothly and meets the highest standards.
Marvin spearheaded the transformation of The Alden Apartments, undertaking comprehensive renovations of each apartment from cabinets and countertops, to fixtures and bathrooms down to the flooring, along with upgrading common areas within this historic 1925 building. From the landscape architecture and curb appeal, to foyer, hallway laundry, community room and gym, his adept management of multiple complex projects simultaneously, combined with his swift response to resident maintenance requests, has greatly enhanced resident satisfaction. Marvin’s efforts have set a new benchmark in property management, making Thrive PropertyMx properties exceptionally warm and inviting, where residents truly love where they live.

Shamar began his journey with Thrive PropertyMx at The Alden Apartments as an Apprentice, quickly showcasing his aptitude for learning diverse trades and his strong work ethic. His dedication and rapid skill acquisition have made him an invaluable asset, as he now leads the development of a comprehensive maintenance program to ensure that the building’s grounds and common areas are maintained to the highest standard. As an aspiring real estate investor, Shamar’s attention to detail and craftsmanship is evident throughout the building, especially in the flooring and unit renovations. His work not only enhances the aesthetic and functional quality of The Alden Apartments but also sets a benchmark for maintenance excellence across all Thrive PropertyMx properties. Shamar’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement reflects his passion for both his role and his future in real estate.
